Quarry Hill Unhealthy Area, 1900_s

The Quarry Hill Unhealthy Area, the 1900s historical reference book, is comprised of four volumes. However, for this investigation, only the first volume was examined as a preliminary investigation, which contains 1,011 entries that represent the study’s overall population. The reference book provides information about Quarry Hill residents during the 1900s, including the location and description of the property, the occupier's name, and profession, and whether the resident is the owner, reputed owner, or lessee. The focus of this study is on the professions of the residents, and thus a data extraction template was created to manually scrape data based on property occupancy (occupied, unoccupied properties, and occupants' gender), employment status (employed or unemployed and their gender), residents' professions, and demographic profile, whether the occupier is a tenant or owner of the property.
